I have worked with teenagers for over 15 years in a range of educational and therapeutic settings. I have specialized in working with sexual abuse and trauma, and have worked with a number of agencies in Auckland and overseas that support those who have experienced sexual violence. I am ACC registered.

Special Interests

My passion is seeing how the brain changes and grows during adolescent development, and helping teens to develop the thinking and analytical skills to cope with life challenges. I am also adept at working with the challenges that survivors of sexual violence experience.

I also use my extensive skills as a musician to enhance my practice and help clients externalise their life-narrative through graphic notation which we then play using a range of percussive instruments - including found-object instruments. Through the primal rhythms clients can connect with self again.

I am an eclectic counsellor. This means I am adept at a range of different approaches I can use to tailor a unique approach for each client. I draw heavily on narrative and creative therapies, and also use music as a therapeutic intervention to trauma responses.

I am also person-centered which means that you are in charge of the process and how fast you want to move through it. Culture is very important to me and I honour the way that culture defines us and how we live our lives.
